Introducing apprentice Julia

Today we introduce you to Julia. The aspiring milk technologist talks about her work with milk and why she finds training at WOERLE so exciting.

How long have you been working at WOERLE?
Since September 2021.

In which department do you work or for which tasks are you responsible?
I am currently in my third year of training as a dairy technologist. Working at WOERLE is my first real job and I find it very varied. I’m involved in “boxing” as well as greasing and working with the milk truck drivers.

How does your perfect working day start?
That depends on the shift. The best way to start is with a good handover with my colleagues.

What is exciting about your job?
I work a lot with machines, which I find exciting. But the best thing about my work is the great variety. I can work both in the “old” cheese factory, where there is still a lot of craftsmanship, and in the new one, which is almost fully automated. That makes my work very interesting.

What has been your best experience at WOERLE so far?
I have already had many beautiful moments with my colleagues. It's exciting to see what you can do with milk, how it reacts to different temperatures or by adding cultures.

You work in Henndorf, not far from Wallersee. What makes this area special from your point of view?
I find it very pleasant that you almost never have to stand in traffic to get here and that it is very quiet.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I'm with the music band, with the JVP and with the rural youth. I also live on a farm where there is always something to do.

If you had to go to a desert island, what three cheeses would you take with you?
Bergkäse, Mondsee and Emmentaler.

Can you tell us your favorite cheese dish?
Pizza and lasagna.

If you could only use one emoji for the rest of your life, what would it be?
The one with the red cheeks. 😊

A day without cheese is...
...like a day without a car, very difficult.
