Say cheese!

24 children from the municipality of Henndorf recently had the opportunity to learn a lot about cheese production and to lend a hand themselves.

It's never too early to show children where our food comes from and how it's made. In this way, they learn how complex food production is and the value of our food. For this reason and because it is important to WOERLE to take responsibility in the region, it was a great pleasure for us to support the Henndorf municipality's holiday program for two days in July.

Cheese apron on and let's go

We showed the interested elementary school students the process of cheese preparation with the help of a picture journey “From milk to cheese”. The hands-on stations were even funnier. The young cheese masters practiced milking with a milking machine, made cream cheese with herbs and discovered what whey tastes like with fruit juice, for example. At the end there was a delicious cheese snack and a certificate.

Promote sustainable thinking

Working with children has always been close to WOERLE's heart. It is becoming increasingly important to create awareness of the value of food and to promote sustainable thinking even among the youngest. Because for the long-term success of the WOERLE sustainability initiatives, the generation of children who carry on these efforts for an intact nature is definitely needed.
