The festival of love is getting closer and slowly we have to think about what we can serve up on the holidays. How about dishes with a “cheesy” character? Be inspired by our ideas for the Christmas menu and make the Christmas season a feast of delights!

Emmental cheese with a hole in the shape of a tree. It's snowing on the cheese, so a layer of snow has formed on it.

starter

A classic Christmas dinner does not always have to involve a lot of effort. Our ideas are about being able to spend a lot of time with your loved ones and still enjoy a delicious meal. Christmas finger food is ideal for this. How about one Gherkin and cheese snack in the shape of a Christmas tree? To do this, cut a cucumber into strips with a vegetable peeler and place them in a wavy pattern on a square piece of cheese – for example ours WOERLE Emmental made from hay milk – place and fix with a toothpick. Finally, cut out a piece of cheese with a star-shaped cookie cutter and position it on the toothpick.

Another eye-catcher that turns everyone's heads: a Star plucked bread. It consists of three yeast doughs, spicy pesto and our WOERLE Bergkäse made from hay milk. For the filling you have to cut the cheese into small pieces. Now roll out the dough to the size of the springform pan base. Place the first dough on the base of the springform pan, spread it with half of the pesto and sprinkle with the cheese. Next, place the second rolled out yeast dough base on top of the first and top with pesto and cheese again. Place the last pastry base on top. Then you cut the dough into 16 pieces of cake, leaving out about 2 cm in the middle. Now a bit of fingertip sensitivity is required: Take two pieces that are next to each other in your hands and turn them outwards twice, away from each other. Then you put the two ends together and press them together. At the end you let the dough star rest for another 10 minutes and then put it in the oven at approx. 190° Celsius top and bottom heat for 20 minutes.

These are elegant and refined as an appetizer. Mini tartlets with red wine onions, pears and Mondseer.

Main Dish

Now we come to the main course. Here we have two suggestions. Either you spoil your guests with a creamy one Cheese fondue. Or you design a varied one A cheeseboard in a Christmas version. With a mixed selection of mild and spicy, firm and soft cheeses in different intensities, there is something for everyone. For the Christmas version, you can recreate a Christmas tree. A stick of celery (stem) and parsley leaves (twigs) serve as the basis. You can place grapes, pomegranate seeds or orange slices between the rows of cheese. To top it all off, place a star-shaped piece of cheese.

Dessert: Fight the sugar shock

And what shall we serve as the grand finale? Admittedly, our suggestion is a bit special, but with these savory Christmas cookies, your Christmas dinner will definitely be remembered. They look like normal rascals or Linzer eyes, but don't taste sweet, but wonderfully cheesy and instead of raspberry jam they are filled with tomato jam. Decoration

But what would the best meal be without the right decoration? Natural materials are ideal for Christmas, such as green fir branches in the middle of the table, pine cones and small tea lights. You could place a piece of cheese in the shape of a star or a cheese Christmas tree (keyword green food coloring) on the plates. Add festive Christmas napkins and voilà, everything is ready for an original feast.

With this in mind: Enjoyable Christmas!
