The Salzburg Lake District, our home

Take a walk on one of the many themed trails in the morning, cycle on an excellently developed network of cycle paths in the afternoon and jump into one of the four lakes in the afternoon - if you had to describe the Salzburg Lake District with three adjectives, these would be: cozy, varied and green.

4 lakes, 14 villages, 44.000 inhabitants - and endless possibilities

Take a walk on one of the many themed trails in the morning, cycle on an excellently developed network of cycle paths in the afternoon and jump into one of the four lakes in the afternoon - if you had to describe the Salzburg Lake District with three adjectives, these would be: cozy, varied and green.

The Salzburg Lake District is located in the middle of Austria's largest contiguous hay milk region and includes the Wallersee and the three Trumer lakes Mattsee, Grabensee and Obertrumer See. The region with its 14 villages is particularly popular with nature lovers, hikers and cyclists. The slightly hilly landscape can be reached from Salzburg in 20 minutes by car. The nutrient-rich soil makes the Salzburg Lake District for its variety of herbs and paths known. But above all, everything here revolves around one thing: water! 11 beach and leisure pools provide refreshment. It doesn't matter whether you prefer to go out on the lake in a pedalo, rowing boat or sailing boat, explore the area while stand-up paddling or kayaking, or just let your soul dangle while looking at the beautiful hay flower meadows: The view of the sparkling water is calming and gives you new strength.

A ship across two lakes

By the way, you can hike around the Wallersee on a 20-kilometer circular route that, among other things, leads through the beautiful nature reserve and bird sanctuary Wenger Moor leads. If, on the other hand, you would like to experience something out of the ordinary, we recommend a trip on the "Seenland", the only one Ship Austria sailing on two lakes. During the passage under the Johannisbrücke, which connects the Obertrumer See with the Mattsee, the roof of the ship is lowered hydraulically.

If you are traveling with children and need more action in between, you are in the FANTASIANA Adventure parks or by Seeham high rope park with its 70 km/h fast Europe slide just right. This is also very popular Animal farm Aiderbichlin Henndorf am Wallersee with its 20 different animal species.
