Alois Widlroither - Woerle cheese dairy

How long have you been working at WOERLE?
Since June 2010.

In which department do you work or for which tasks are you responsible?
I'm the shift manager in the cheese dairy and I'm responsible for ensuring that everyone has something to do. Specifically, I operate the machines and check that they are running properly. I also take care of the people who serve them and make sure they do everything right.

How does your perfect working day start?
Preferably with the late shift so that I have enough time for breakfast. And then everything runs flawlessly at best.

What does your typical daily routine look like?
First, I get an overview of what is being produced that day. I then take a tour of the plant and check whether all the machines are running smoothly and whether the plants have been cleaned properly. Then I assign the shift workers and start with the day-to-day business, ie the control. And in between there is a coffee.

What is exciting about your job?
My job brings something new every day. We are always working with new systems. Getting this right is very exciting.

What has been your best experience at WOERLE so far?
When I came back from the master class in 2016 and was personally congratulated by the boss.

You work in Henndorf, not far from Wallersee. What makes this area special from your point of view?
The landscape all around, the short distances to the farmers and the sustainability are unique here.

What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time you can find me 90 percent with the fire brigade and otherwise I take care of my little family.

If you had to go to a desert island, what three cheeses would you take with you?
Mondsee, Emmentaler and a giant piece Bergkäse.

Can you tell us your favorite cheese dish?
Cheese dumplings

If you could only use one emoji for the rest of your life, what would it be?
🖖The Vulcanico greeting
