WOERLE Seminar: Homeopathy for cattle

The homeopathic healing principle states: "Like cures like."

The term Homöopathie comes from the Greek and is composed of two words: homoion for "similar" and pathos for "suffering". The term was coined by Dr. medical Samuel Hahnemann (1755 -1843), the father of classical homeopathy. More than 200 years ago he found that cinchona bark could be used very effectively against intermittent fever. In healthy people, however, the symptoms that resembled intermittent fever were caused by the ingestion of cinchona bark. As a logical conclusion for him, he formulated the homeopathic healing principle based on the natural principle: "Like cures like."

Why homeopathy in agriculture?

The use of homeopathic remedies in dairy farming ranges from acute illnesses to chronic illnesses, strengthening the immune system and preventive measures. They are usually a good alternative and support to conventional medicine. Just as with humans, the use of antibiotics can also be reduced in dairy farming with correctly applied homeopathy. However, it is important to know that homeopathy cannot replace a veterinarian in the case of unclear symptoms and acute life-threatening illnesses.

Innovation 2022

At the end of January 2022, a new EU veterinary medicinal product regulation came into force. This means that all medicines used for (food-producing) animals, including homeopathic medicines approved for livestock, require a prescription. These may only be used by pet owners if they have been prescribed or dispensed by a treating veterinarian or treatment instructions have been handed out.

Our milk suppliers care about the welfare of their animals. We have been promoting homeopathy in the barn for several years and offer our farmers lectures and further training courses on homeopathic prevention and early detection as support. Due to the great interest in recent years and at the request of our farmers, we are holding a 2-day seminar on the basics this year "Homeopathy in milk production" and the new EU regulation 2022. Many thanks to our speaker Angela Lamminger (animal naturopath, lecturer in holistic cattle health and specialist book author), who offered the 50 participants an exciting and interesting seminar on animal health.
