A Flagship project in the field of "School and Business" was initiated by the private cheese dairy WOERLE from Salzburg. Since 2019, the company has involved students from HBLA Ursprung in research projects as part of its own sustainability academy. The aim is to sensitize young people at an early stage to resource-saving living and working. For this, the traditional company with the Regionality Prize Salzburg in the category "Education and Research" .

The award is presented annually in five categories. The aim is to reward companies that impress with particularly sustainable projects and activities. This year we were allowed to meet on June 01st, 2023 at the awarding of the Green Marketing Awards happy about the 1st place in the category "B-2-BE"! With our sustainability project "Regional CO₂-reduced“ we were able to convince the jury of our efforts to promote balance in the region.

As part of this project, we have been paying our milk suppliers a bonus of up to €50 per tonne of CO₂ saved for over two years. In June 2022 the TRIGOS Award awarded, Austria's most renowned award for responsible and sustainable management. As one of six companies, we were selected for our project "Biodiversity in Farmers' Hands" .

With this project, we are committed to promoting biodiversity, especially in agriculture. In cooperation with the dairy farmers in the region, habitats and retreats for a wide variety of animals and plants are created. The knowledge gained from this about the preservation of biodiversity is scientifically documented and recorded on a self-developed digital map.

On June 29.06.2022, XNUMX, the award ceremony took place SFAO certificates in Klagenfurt. That Energy Forum Carinthia certifies selected companies under the aspects of sustainability. We were awarded for our CO₂ saving project "Regional CO₂-reduced" in cooperation with our dairy farmers and were able to take home a certificate for our sustainable entrepreneurship.

At WOERLE we set 2021 as part of the long-term sustainability strategy the next step and put the focus on the Reduction of CO₂ emissions in the region. With a CO₂ account for more climate protection, agriculture was actively involved - we reward our dairy farmers for every tonne of CO₂ saved. This commitment was Salzburg Regionality Award 2021 rewarded.

For our lighthouse project "Regional CO₂ reduced", one of the three pillars of our long-term sustainability strategy, we were awarded the Salzburg Energy Globe Award at regional level in October 2021 and at the same time were nominated nationally for the Energy Globe Award Austria. In addition to measures at the company location, agriculture is also actively involved in matters of environmental protection.
